refractive illumination
as if through beaded strings
liquid resonance
bathing me in splendor

to the bone I am swimming
though eyes continue
skimming the surface as if
beneath blankets I see you

obscuring vision beyond clarity
awake above the night
skin responses, chilling
wet, the scent of the street metallic

it is your touch I hunger for
city lights and stop lights
clarity in moments of unhindered sight
I’ll be home soon
